Hourglass hosts an inspirational and/or informational public forum. These forums typically attract 200-300 people.
Past speakers have included: Charleston’s Mayor Riley talking about city revitalization, John Norquist president of the Congress for New Urbanism discussing urban design, Christopher Leinberger of the Brookings Institution sharing the importance of municipal strategic planning, Michael Levine founder of Sesame Street’s research center talking on advancing children’s learning in a digital age, and Thomas Friedman NY Times columnist discussing societal systems in an era of rapid technological growth.
Our most recent forum, “The Future Ain’t What It Used To Be” featured eight future-making presentations on exciting trends and initiatives that will affect Lancaster County.
